Introduction
Radnor House Twickenham and Kneller Hall School operate as a single school community and are part of the Dukes Education family of schools.
We currently operate under the Radnor House Twickenham name, but we will transition to our new identity, Kneller Hall School, in September 2027. Kneller Hall will serve as our new site (a listed building located next to Twickenham Stadium London) and we are preparing our digital and academic infrastructure to suit both modern education and the constraints of a historic site.
As an independent school with an increasing number of pupils using laptops for learning and examinations, we require safe, reliable and flexible power solutions that support digital examinations without compromising health and safety or exam hall setup requirements.
The Challenge
During examination periods, a large number of pupils use laptops. Historically, keeping devices powered throughout longer exams required running extension leads and power strips across exam halls.
This created several challenges:
- Trip hazards for pupils, invigilators and staff
- Time consuming setup, with significant cable management
- Cluttered exam rooms, affecting supervision
- Risk of accidental power loss due to cables being moved or unplugged
- Restrictions in a listed building, where installing or modifying electrical infrastructure may not be permitted
With digital exams becoming more common and our upcoming move to a listed building we required a clean, modern solution that avoids reliance on trailing cables.
