How The Holdsworth Center keeps its Lake Austin meeting spaces powered without a cable on the floor

The Holdsworth Center's campus on Lake Austin hosts leadership programs in large meeting spaces that are reconfigured constantly. Outlets sat far from where tables ended up, so every session meant extension cables run across the floor, tripping hazards, and setup time lost by the AV and IT team. How many Power Stations does a property need?

For shared guest spaces such as lobbies, lounges and pool decks, we recommend one Power Station per 25 seats. For meetings and events, plan one station per breakout room or per 25 attendees in a general session, plus a Power Station 40+ for each AV or registration position that sits away from a wall.

Can guests check power banks out themselves?

Yes. With Power-as-a-Service, guests use the free Omnicharge app to borrow a power bank from any station and return it to any station on the property. Your team sets loan periods, fees and station status in SmartCenter, and the checkout flow can carry your property's branding. Front desk staff can also hand out power banks manually if you prefer a concierge-style program.

What happens if a guest leaves with a power bank?

Every app checkout is tied to the guest's account, and SmartCenter shows which units are out, for how long, and at which station they were last returned. Loan periods and late fees are configured by you, so a walk-off becomes a billable event rather than a lost asset.

Can it run projectors and AV equipment?

The Omni Power Station 20+ and 40+ power banks include a full-size AC outlet. The 40+ carries 142Wh per unit, enough to run two laptops at once, or a projector, mixer, signage display or registration kiosk through a session without a cable to the wall. For all-day boardroom sessions, the 80C+ with Omni Power Bases brings AC and high-watt USB-C to the table itself.

How long does it take to recharge all the power banks?

Depending on the model, four to six hours from a single wall outlet. Dynamic Power Protection firmware stops charging at 100% and lets each power bank rest to around 80% before topping up again, extending battery life for units that sit in the station between guests.

Is Omnicharge safe in guest-facing spaces?

The charging base uses a shock-resistant aluminum casing with overheat, short-circuit and over-voltage protection. Each portable unit has a flame-retardant shell, proprietary battery balancing, and temperature sensors, and is IEC 62133-2 certified. Full details are on our Power Safety page.
